Move-to-Earn App StepN to Limit Service in China

StepN announced that it would stop offering GPS and Internet Protocol (IP) location services to mainland consumers in China in mid-July. According to STEPN, the relocation was undertaken to comply with Chinese legislation, and the company had never done business on the mainland. Any cross-border data transfers must be first reported to China’s cyber and data protection body, according to the new Personal Information Protection Law, which went into force on November 1. It was unclear how STEPN services could be used after July 15 without tracking GPS and IP data. A request for comment from STEPN was not immediately returned. In a Discord channel, STEPN creator, Jerry H, stated that mainland players in China make up fewer than 5% of the community. StepN Allows Users to Earn GMT Money StepN is a decentralized blockchain-based software that allows users to earn GMT money by conducting exercises.
