Walmart to accept payments in crypto Litecoin

Walmart (WMT +0.7%) announces major partnership with Litecoin (LTC-USD) that allows shoppers to make payments with cryptocurrencies. The news sent the crypto Litecoin up 23% to trade around $225. The ecommerce giant says it will launch "Pay with Litecoin Option" on October 1st that will provide all shoppers globally to checkout through crypto payment at near-zero fees. "The momentum and excitement around the use of cryptocurrency are undeniable, and we are poised to make online shopping easy for our customers. As a leading eCommerce store, we are committed to bringing innovations to the online shopping experience," says Doug McMillon, Walmart CEO.
