Silvergate Capital, Bed Bath & Beyond, Carvana top S3 Partners short interest float list

Silvergate Capital ( NYSE: SI ), Bed Bath & Beyond ( NASDAQ: BBBY ), and Carvana ( NYSE: CVNA ), three companies that have garnered attention of late due to poor performance, have topped S3 Partners' list of US companies with the highest short interest % of float. Silvergate came in at No. 1, with a staggering 85.3% SI % of float. On Friday, the bank holding company suspended its transfer network for crypto and institutional clients. Bed Bath & Beyond ( BBBY ) came in second with a 57.2% SI % of float. In February, the chain said it would close some stores across the U.S. Carvana ( CVNA ), in the third position, came in with a 55.8% SI % of float. In February, the stock was hit by posting a wider-than-anticipated Q4 2022 loss . WeWork ( WE ) and Upstart Holdings ( NASDAQ: UPST ) rounded out the top five.
